Colombia Finca Quinua
Delicate Yellow Fruit Acidity with a Creamy Pastry Sweetness
Ancuya, Nariño (2000m)
Fully washed Castillo and Caturra
Finca Quinua rests high on a towering ridge overlooking the picturesque town of Ancuya below. This remote farm represents local Ancuya flavors of creamy pastry and sweet baked goods but its refined acidity and harmony owes to its slower ripening and careful farming at a soaring 2080 meter altitude crafting world class specialty coffee. An extended ripening and fermentation time helps integrate the fruit sweet flavors of Caturra with the herbaceous edge of Castillo.
Saint Frank first discovered Luis Cundar and the remote community of Ancuya through our Colombia partners Azahar and their collaboration with the Occidente Cooperative of Nariño. We were immediately won over by his humility and sincerity as a third generation producer quietly leading Ancuya in quality and dedication from his grandfather's century old house high on the mountain above the roads. We believe that investing in Luis and promoting connection among other Ancuya producers ignites enthusiasm and hope for realising potential and moving forward on the path of transformation throughout our supply stream. Finca Quinua and Luis Cundar are a classic Saint Frank coffee.
