Delicate Jasmine Florals with Bright Mango and Yellow Nectarine
Gesha is the most prized and alluring variety of Arabica for its floral depth, complexity, and intensity. This notoriously low yielding plant is elegant in appearance and a challenge to cultivate. Golondrina is able to offer a brilliant expression of Gesha from celebrated seed stock in Panama. Unforgettable notes of Fruit Loops or Fruity Pebbles cereal shine alongside the unique traits of the site, at once familiar and new.
Besides the given excitement and compelling nature of being a Gesha, this coffee is one of the more exciting coffees in its narrative. Typically extremely expensive coffees purchased through auctions, the famous Geshas are grown by non-indigenous privileged estates. But this coffee comes from a humble producer that only a few years ago was struggling with a diseased farm and minimal production. We’ve been working with and encouraging Celso since 2014, building momentum that has led to this rare and world class offering, a relationship not an auction transaction. Here is a Gesha that belongs with the world’s greats, grown by an inspiring and humble indigenous farmer. Enjoy.
