Sweet and Sparkling with Tropical Fruit and Fresh Bergamot
Here is one of the world's most coveted varieties planted on one of its most famous sites by one of its most renowned producers and champions of local small scale specialty coffee production. These precious plants are finally producing the famous floral and delicate aromas and flavors they are regarded for with a fascinating sweetened pepper and herbal note that keeps the cup structured making for a wonderful expression of everything that makes this particular coffee so special.
La Salsa is the second farm from Benjamin Paz planted with two exciting and exotic varieties after establishing his first farm Laguneta with traditional local selections. Here in the colder and wetter climate of El Cedral, Benjamin decided to establish an experimental plot with Gesha seeds from a secret Panama source and SL28 from Kenya. For years this plot was cultivated high above the village of El Cedral in secret with such precious and fruit at risk of theft in the deep cover of night. We were fortunate to bring you the very first harvest of this coffee from our friend Benjamin and now a small part each year from this highly sought after coffee which can now boast the title as a First Place Winner in the Honduras Cup of Excellence! This is truly one of the great treasures of the world of coffee and even more so as the fruit of meaningful relationships first with accolades following. Cheers!
