White Blossom Florals Lead to Rainier Cherry and Sweet Tangerine with a Black Tea Finish
While Benjamin Paz’s award-winning La Salsa Gesha needs little introduction to the coffee world, this rare selection beautifully transcends expectations. It delivers the iconic floral and bright signatures adored around the world, but with an entirely new range of sweetness, depth, and intrigue.
For us, this cup is about far more than an extraordinary flavor profile; it is rooted in deep story, community, and years of genuine human connection. We have been close friends with Benjamin for a long time, proudly serving as the very first roaster to offer the taste of his first harvest, and we have cherished our small allocation ever since.
This unique lot represents a completely new sensory experience. Whole cherries were slowly dried on raised beds inside a cool, dark, climate-controlled room. This careful slowing of the drying process transforms the coffee's physical structure, highlighting a beautiful relationship between flavor, mouthfeel, and quiet contemplation.
The taste journey is striking. It opens with the rich, aromatic intensity of a classic natural process, but quickly shifts to reveal the pristine terroir clarity and character of an exceptional washed coffee. As the cup develops, vibrant floral qualities soar in the background, layering gracefully over dense fruit before settling into a long, reflective finish.
